Card For My Neighbor

Happy Tuesday!!

Today I have a card to share that I made a few weeks ago.  But then I had a flare up and went to the hospital, and just realized that I never posted it!!

My mom came across this cute/funny saying on an advertisement in a magazine, and she said it would be cute to put on a dog themed card!   Here's the saying:

We decided to make a card for our neighbor, Jodi.  She is also a card maker who makes amazing cards!  Well, she has a poodle, so I wanted to make her a card that featured the same breed.  Here is what I came up with:

I cut the poodle on my Cricut, and ran the body through the Divine Swirls embossing folder for added texture.  I also added glossy accents on her little nose!

Here's a look at the finished card:

I popped both images up, but used thicker foam adhesive on the doggie, to make her appear oloser.  I used some sparkle neon cording (found at Joanns) for the leash.  The lady was cut from the Paper Dolls Teen Scene cartridge.  Did you notice how low I accidently stamped her mouth?  Ugh!! I could have cried!!  I just can't do that stuff with my poor vision!  I don't know why I even try.  And of course, I stamped it after the image was completely put together.  Some day, I swear, I will learn to stamp it first, so when I mess up, I can just recut that one part, and THEN assemble the entire image!   Lol!

I also did not use any background paper because I didn't want to distract from the images.  I'm happy with how it turned out.  (Even with the stamping boo-boo!)

Let me know what you think!  I love comments!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a GREAT day!

  1. That saying is hysterical. I really like that you used the Divine Swirls embossing folder to give the poodle texture. What a great card, I'm sure your neighbor loved it.
