GINORMOUS Hello Kitty Birthday Card!!

 Hi everyone!

Today I have another birthday card to share.  This one has a funny back story to it.  When I started the Birthday Card Club, I got a question "What size is an A5 card?"  I thought, hmmmm... this is an odd question to ask me, I don't think I have ever made an A5 or mentioned it before.  But I looked it up to provide an answer.  The first couple websites that I saw, showed A5 as something ridiculous like 18" x 27" or something ODD like that.  Then another website showed something just a couple inches different from that.  So, it took me a bit, but I finally found the correct A5 measurements.

Then I got another question.  "What is A5 size?"  And this time I asked, why are you asking me that?  She told me that my email that went out to everyone had that we needed to make at least an A5 sized card.  WHAAAAAT!??!  No!!  I meant to say A2!  So then I freaked out, and sent a "correction" email to everyone saying that I meant to type A2.  Well, I went back and checked my original email, and it DID say A2, so I thought, "How could it have been changed by just sending it out?!  How could email just change what I typed?"  Well, it didn't.!  LOL!  It tuns out that she read the email quickly, and then called her best friend to ask what A5 was (the other person who emailed me.)  So it wasn't my error in an email! WHEW!

Well, this gal is awesome, and has such a fun personality, so I was joking with her best friend that I was going to send her a HUGE card as a joke for her birthday card.  And her friend egged me on!!  So I did it!  Here is my card:

I could barely get it all in frame!  It is 16" wide by 24" tall!  yes, HUGE!!!   It started out as an actual greeting card (that I can't remember who made it) but around the big holidays, like Christmas and Valentine's Day they have these giant cards in the greeting card aisle.  This one was a Valentine's Day card, I will show it:
Yeah, it was a Valentine's Day lovey card.  So I covered it up to make it a Birthday Card!!  I used the DCWV 12" x 24" Adhesive backed Patterned stack.

Here is the Hello Kitty that I cut out on my Cricut:
Yep, that's a quarter by her ear, just so you can see how BIG she is!!  This actual cut is different, I tweaked it with my Gypsy to make the kitty as big as the balloons.  Because the actual cut, she is pretty well proportioned to how it would be in real life.  (I guess.)  But I wanted her bigger, since the card itself is so big.  So I have the kitty and the balloon cut to be about 11" each.

Here is a look at the inside of the card:

I had to cover the inside as well.  (It had some lovey dovey sentiment like "Be my sugar" or something like that. lol!)  So I used some Hello Kitty paper to do a border on the side, then a piece of 12" x 24" white cardstock (also DCWV) and then cut out my sentiment using MAMBI Sizzix font dies called "Night & Day."

Here is a close-up of the sentiment:

I had to add a silly sentiment that represented the whole A5 thing!  I hope she likes my card, and I hope she gets a good laugh out of it!  I have always been one to tease, so I love it when I find friends who can laugh easily!  :)
I hope you have a very happy birthday Penny!!!

A video will be up on my YT channel about this card as well.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Waterfall Gift Card Holder, Birthday Card

Hi everyone!!

I have a fun birthday card to share today!

For my niece's and nephews birthdays this year, I decided to do something unique for each one.  (at least the older ones, who want money and gift cards for their birthdays! lol)  For my nephew's birthday back in July, I taped (with washi tape so it is removable) $100 in dollar bills to each other, end to end.  I then folded them accordion style, and put them in a box that was just larger than the stack of money. I attached a tag to the end dollar bill, and cut a hole in the top of the box.  Sealed the box, wrapped it, and fed the tag through the hold on top.  On the tag, I put, "Trent, Pull Here"  and then placed a giant bow on the box, to hide the hole.  I didn't get good pictures of the box, (which was very disappointing because I wanted to post them!)  So, we all went to a restaurant for his birthday, and when he was opening his gifts, he started with mine.  I got out my phone to film it, (which also didn't turn out..it was too dark!) and he pulled the tag, and pulled and pulled, and out came $100 all in singles!  It was hilarious!  Everyone in the restaurant stopped and watched, laughed, and applauded!  It was pretty cool!  (then my little niece yelled, "That's what I want for MY BIRTHDAY!!!!" lol!)
So the next birthday was my niece, Madison's.  She wanted to get clothes, so I asked where she liked to shop, and went and got four gift cards that equaled $100.  (Can't just get ONE...I have to make it difficule! LOL!)  So here is a video showing the card.  (I did take pictures, but because of this waterfall type, the video is the best way to show it!)  Hope you like it!

 Thanks for watching!!

Hap-BEE Birthday!

Hey guys!

I can't believe October is almost over!  This year has FLOWN by!!

Today I have another Birthday card to share.  This is the one I made for my mom this year.  Her birthday was the 7th, so you know I made this a few weeks ago!

The stamp/image is from Pollycraft (which I am so sad to say that they no longer exist!! Well, the shop closed, I mean. That was one of my all-time favorite stamp companies!!)  I colored it as I was recovering from my last flare, so yeah....not my best work!! BUT my mom's birthday was the following day, and I just HAD to have a card for her!  The paper used if Crete Paper, and the stack name is Party [something] (I think it's Party Time, but don't quote me on that! lol!)  I also added some Prima flowers, black bling, and it was done.  I think it's cute! :)
Here is the inside:
The paper is the same as the front, and the sentiment I made by masking off a Happy Birthday stamp.  I masked off the 'birth' part, and added in 'BEE' from a Doodlebug Alpha stamp set. (Oh, and this has nothing to do with my card....but those Doodlebug stamps smell like the Petting Zoo at our Zoo here.  Um.... WEIRD!!!) I'm not saying it smells like manure or anything, just....you know... the animal smell.  Hahahahaha. When I told my mom that, she cracked up and said, "Only YOU Lori, Only you."  But hey, since I was diagnosed with GP, and I'm nauseous every day of my life, smells set it off.  So I recognize smells.  And that one was VERY CLEAR!  It was so strange! I don't think I'll be using those stamps again! Lol!

Wow, long side note.

That's my card (and story) for the day!  I hope you're all having a great weekend!

Busy Birthday Month!

Hey everyone!

October is a very busy month, as far as birthdays go.  So today I have three birthday cards to share!

This first one, is on a Recollections Corrugated Card Base (love those!):
The pretty rose paper is from Crete Paper, and the flower in the corner is a K & Co Embellishment.  I came with leaves which I cut off, and added the leaves seen here.  I just liked them better.  The others just looked real cheesy-fake! (lol)   I then stamped Happy Birthday, and cut it into a banner shape, and gave it a little curve when I adhered it down.
 Here is the inside:
Another one of the embellishments, (which I left the leaves on this one) and put it on top of a half-doily.

Here is card #2:
For this one, I used paper from a DCWV stack (which the name escapes me right now!) It's flocked though, and gorgeous!!  Then I used the Tim Holtz dress form die (from The Sewing Room) and the paper on the dress form, is from a Melody Ross stack. (If anyone wants to know the actual names, I can look them up, no problem, just ask!!)  I then added some Rick Rack to the waist, and a tiny pearl necklace.
Here is the inside:
I used the same paper from the dress form on the front, for the background on the inside.  So it would matchy-match. And the Happy Birthday sentiment, (I believe) is from the TPC Studios Stamp set that I use all the time!

And here is the final card for today:
I really like this one!  I used a CC Designs Stamp for my image.  Colored her up, and fussy-cut her out. Oh! And when I was trimming her out, I accidentally gave her a major hair cut!! EEK!  I chopped off the entire bottom of her pigtail! (oops!  Blind people shouldn't use scissors!!)  So luckily, I was able to just glue it down and you can't tell that I made an oopsie!  (at least...I HOPE you can't!)  Then, I put her sitting on/in a Polaroid frame, (which I designed on my Gypsy and cut out on my Cricut)  And I think it turned out so cute!  I then added some Prima flowers in the bottom corner, added some bling rhinestones, and the same Birthday sentiment in a banner shape.  Oh, and the paper used is from the DCWV Birthday Stack 6x6.
Here is the inside:
More of the same papers, a couple banners, and a space to write the note.

I hope you like my cards today!! (I actually made these like, 3 weeks ago! Just haven't felt well enough to post!)  Leave me a comment, and let me know what you think!

Have a GREAT day!

School Themed Birthday Cards 2013

Hey friends!!

My post today is to share the birthday cards that I make each year for a local elementary school.  They are birthday cards, for the entire faculty.  Previously, I have made them for two schools, but this year I only had to make them for one.  ("HAD TO"  that isn't right!!.  I volunteer to do this! haha.)   I finished them before school started, but was too sick to get this video and blog post up.  Here's a video, and there will be pictures below.

I had to make over 100 of these, so I made about 10 of each design, but no two cards were identical.  They had the same image, but different colors and background papers.  Oh, and most of the photos were taken with the cards tucked into the envelopes, so it looks like I did a horrible job centering the patterned paper! Haha!  Here are the photos:

These are my favorite!  I used a cut from the Recess Cricut cartridge, except on the cut, the chalkboard has an "ABC" and I hid that using my gypsy, and heat embossed the Happy Birthday.  I also used Enamel Accents for her tiny piece of chalk.  It added the perfect touch!  :)
The ruler and composition notebook in her hands, are actually Sticko stickers!
These I actually made the first year I did this project.  I found some of them in my craft room when I recently reorganized it, so I threw them into the batch for this year! I do like this card though.  I used an apple from the Making The Grade Cricut cartridge, and welded "Happy Birthday," and the star using my gypsy.  Then cut it out with different layers/colors.  (Looking back, it would have been way easier to not weld, and just cut the individual pieces, but ah well!)

For this one, I just used School themed background paper, and a sentiment stamp.  I wanted to make a few simple ones.  I know not all people like the cutesy images.
This one uses an ice cream cone from the Indie Art Cricut cartridge.  It's one of my favorite ice cream cone cuts!
This one, uses an image from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I love this image!!
This one, uses the same image from the previous card, except I cut out the mouse and added a few balloons.  It's meant to look like they are floating out as the gift is opened.  I saw a card similar to this on a blog a long time ago, and can't for the life of me find it again!  I would love to give credit where it's due, but I can't find it!  (I'm still searching!)

This card is just three crayons.  I stamped in the center crayon with various birthday stamps.
The next card uses a worm from the Create A Critter cartridge, along with a book from one of the Paper Dolls cartridges.  I used a Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces stamp for his face, and added glossy accents to his glasses!  I also used a tiny stamp from a 7 gypsies set called, Numero for the book title. I love this lilttle book worm!!
This is just a simple cupcake.  I ran the cupcake wrapper through my crimper to make it look real, and ran the frosting through the Divine Swirls embossing folder. I also stamped the candle with a tone on tone chevron print.
This next one is my favorite pencil cut from the Cricut!  It is from My Community.  I also stamp a "no. 2" on the side to add some reality to it.

And that's it for the school-themed birthday cards for the 2013-2014 school year!  Thanks for stopping by!

Card Swap Cards

 Hey crafty friends!

I hope everyone is doing well!  I have had a pretty bad summer, health-wise.  I think the heat just adds to my illness.  BUT!! I have managed to craft a little bit here and there.  I still have to finish the Birthday Cards that I make each year for my sister-in-laws elementary school.

I decided to join a swap a while ago.  I have wanted to join many of them, but I was always scared that I would go into a 'flare' and not be able to finish my projects in time  And I would hate that!  Well, this swap had a deadline that was far enough out that I thought I could manage it.  And I did!  So today, I want to share the cards that I made.  I posted a video of them on Youtube, but I thought I would post it here too, as well as some photos of the cards.

Here's the Video:

And here are a whole bunch of pictures:

Here's my {Appy} Birthday card:
The banner is made with Angry Birds ribbon
And the magnets on the inside are App Icon magnets!
Here are some Halloween Cards that I made:
I wanted it to look like the image was busting out of the picture!

Here is another card, this one has a jeweled butterfly layered on flowers and a doily:

And the last one is a "just a note" card made with a clipboard that I cut from my Cricut:

And these are just some simple 3x3 cards I made to include in the package I sent.  Just to add a little note to each crafter.
This was my first time ever actually fussy cutting.  (you can tell!! haha)  I think they turned out ok, but I really shouldn't be doing that.  I just can NOT see well enough!
I am pleased with how all of my cards turned out.  I really hope the other ladies like them too!  I have received three of the four packages already, and the cards are just FABULOUS!

Thank you for stopping by and looking at my cards!
