School Themed Birthday Cards 2013

Hey friends!!

My post today is to share the birthday cards that I make each year for a local elementary school.  They are birthday cards, for the entire faculty.  Previously, I have made them for two schools, but this year I only had to make them for one.  ("HAD TO"  that isn't right!!.  I volunteer to do this! haha.)   I finished them before school started, but was too sick to get this video and blog post up.  Here's a video, and there will be pictures below.

I had to make over 100 of these, so I made about 10 of each design, but no two cards were identical.  They had the same image, but different colors and background papers.  Oh, and most of the photos were taken with the cards tucked into the envelopes, so it looks like I did a horrible job centering the patterned paper! Haha!  Here are the photos:

These are my favorite!  I used a cut from the Recess Cricut cartridge, except on the cut, the chalkboard has an "ABC" and I hid that using my gypsy, and heat embossed the Happy Birthday.  I also used Enamel Accents for her tiny piece of chalk.  It added the perfect touch!  :)
The ruler and composition notebook in her hands, are actually Sticko stickers!
These I actually made the first year I did this project.  I found some of them in my craft room when I recently reorganized it, so I threw them into the batch for this year! I do like this card though.  I used an apple from the Making The Grade Cricut cartridge, and welded "Happy Birthday," and the star using my gypsy.  Then cut it out with different layers/colors.  (Looking back, it would have been way easier to not weld, and just cut the individual pieces, but ah well!)

For this one, I just used School themed background paper, and a sentiment stamp.  I wanted to make a few simple ones.  I know not all people like the cutesy images.
This one uses an ice cream cone from the Indie Art Cricut cartridge.  It's one of my favorite ice cream cone cuts!
This one, uses an image from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I love this image!!
This one, uses the same image from the previous card, except I cut out the mouse and added a few balloons.  It's meant to look like they are floating out as the gift is opened.  I saw a card similar to this on a blog a long time ago, and can't for the life of me find it again!  I would love to give credit where it's due, but I can't find it!  (I'm still searching!)

This card is just three crayons.  I stamped in the center crayon with various birthday stamps.
The next card uses a worm from the Create A Critter cartridge, along with a book from one of the Paper Dolls cartridges.  I used a Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces stamp for his face, and added glossy accents to his glasses!  I also used a tiny stamp from a 7 gypsies set called, Numero for the book title. I love this lilttle book worm!!
This is just a simple cupcake.  I ran the cupcake wrapper through my crimper to make it look real, and ran the frosting through the Divine Swirls embossing folder. I also stamped the candle with a tone on tone chevron print.
This next one is my favorite pencil cut from the Cricut!  It is from My Community.  I also stamp a "no. 2" on the side to add some reality to it.

And that's it for the school-themed birthday cards for the 2013-2014 school year!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy (late) St. Patty's Day

Hello crafty friends!

It has been so very long since I have been able to post.  The past five-ish months have been not so great, health-wise for me.  This disease is never fun, but some times are just way harder than others.  The past five months, I haven't done nearly the crafting that I hoped to do, and that makes me sad. :(

But I was able to make a few projects, and I will try to post those that I took pictures of here in the next week or so.   Since yesterday was St. Patty's Day, I will show my cards that I made for it! :)  Did you all wear your GREEN!?!? :)

Here is my little leprechaun friend.  I had so much fun making these cards.  This is one of my favorite holidays anyway, so it's always fun! :)

And here are the cards I made using him (and different versions of him.)
Gatefold version:
Lady Leprechaun:

For this card, it is a Z-fold card, and I made it so when it opens up, the boy and girl leprechaun hold hands!
Here is a card I made showing a pint of green beer!
I don't know if you can tell, but I cut the mug out in vellum, and also in acetate.  I embossed the vellum cut with the distressed stripes cuttlebug folder, to make it look more like the beer stein shape, and the vellum gave it the "frosty" appearance.  Then, the acetate was cut to make it look like glass.   I wish my camera took more clear photos!

Here are my Shamrock cards:
For these next 2 shamrock cards, I made the shamrocks using a 'love' heart stamp that I got from Hobby Lobby. (I don't remember the brand.)
Close-up of the stamp:
....And the final shamrock card:

Oh, and I decorated all of the envelopes like this too!

Boy, it feels good to be able to post again!!!  Thanks for stopping by and looking at my projects!  I'm off to look at all of your blogs now!! YAY!!

Purses Galore!

This will be my last post for the night.... I promise!! :)

I purchased a sentiments magazine a couple months ago, and came across  one that just cracked me up.  I knew I HAD to make a card using it.  I finally was able to make one for someone who would enjoy the sentiment and the card.   Here is what I came up with:
Here is the sentiment:
When I make a card, I try to make an extra one that is just a little different.  That way, I will have some extra cards on hand if I ever need one in a pinch.  So I made a few varieties of this card:

I think this is one of my favorites that I've made. :)   I love how they all turned out.
Thanks for looking!

My Mother's Day Projects

Did everyone have a nice Mother's Day Weekend?!  :)

Here is the card that I made for my Mom:
I love how it turned out!  :)  I also made a simple banner to hang in her living room:

Then, I had to do something silly for my mom as well.  Have you guys heard that poem/story called, "Hat's Off To Mother," if not..it is pretty cute.  Mom's do so very much and have the hardest job in the entire world!  The story talks about the many 'hats' that a mother wears.  So I made these sticks to put in a vase, to go along with the story.  (I didn't get a picture of the finished product...but here are each of the individual sticks:)
A Nurse:

*(I know my mom spent a majority of the time raising me, being  my nurse.  Having a diabetic child can NOT be easy!!!) Thanks Mom!! :)
A Chef:
And what a good chef she is!!! :)
A Chauffeur:   (I turned this into Mom's Taxi!)
A Detective:  Sshe neeeeever had to play this.... I was a perfect angel!!)
My mom always said that if I were an angel, that my horns were holding up my halo. Lol!
A Gardener:
A Maid:  *(this one was hard for me...what kind of hat does a maid wear?!!?  I came up with a bonnet type...but that just seemed odd to me. haha.)
That one was left pretty plain, I wanted to add a broom or mop, but anything I tried didn't look right.  Ah well.
And last but not least, 'A Queen, and Angel in Disguise'

I don't know if she will want to keep these.  (I always feel silly when people want to "keep" the stuff I make).  But if she does, I will probably turn it into a mini album/story. :) I changed a couple the words from the original poem, so that it really fit my mom.  If anyone wants to know the actual poem, I can tell you though!
I hope she had a good mother's day. I love my mommy! hehe.

Thanks for stopping by, and checking out my projects!!  I love all your comments!!!! :)

Therapy

I have been a busy little bee!  I got to go to therapy (my craft room) today!!! LOL!   It seriously IS my release though!  So getting to spend a few hours in there, is amazing!

Well, of my ten Halloween card that I absolutely HAVE to make, I was able to knock four of them out today!  Ah sookie sookie!  Haha.

I'll start off first with my "trick or treat-ers" card.  I just love this one.  I know I say that about all of my cards, but I really LOVE this one!!  I knew that I wanted to make a few kids in costumes, and have them carrying trick-or-treat bags, but that's all I really ahd in mind.  So I got on my gypsy, and did some playing around, and I decided to use a few cuts from Paper Doll Dress Up.

I made their little trick or treat bags to hold their candy that they get, by just cutting some orange paper, drawing a (bad) jack-o-lantern face, and folding it up with a pop-dot in the middle for bulk.

I really love this card!  This is one of the rare ones that I am proud of.

Thanks for stopping by!!!   It's getting closer and closer to Halloween!! YAY!!!
