Card For A Crafty Friend

Hey blogland!!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!  I know I did, I actually felt well enough to craft a little! Yay!!

Today, I want to share a card I made for my crafty friend, Paula.  I didn't realize this before, but it's pretty intimidating to make a card for a fellow crafter!  Especially a super talented one!!  (You should check out her work!  This is the link to her blog:  http://pvcreations2010.blogspot.com/?m=0 )

So here is my card:

I am in love with the background paper.  I have had it for years and have no idea where I bought it, or who it's by!!  The shoe ribbon along the bottom is from Joanns (those small spools.)  Then I used the Sizzix Tim Holtz Clock Die, layered with a paper doily.  On top of that is a  few die cut flowers that I cut from a vintage Websters Dictionary (from 1912) the flowers were cut from the tattered Flirals die, also Tim Holtz.  And finally, the top flower is from Prima, the state flowers collection that come with the flowers and postcards.  The flower is Iowa's State Flower (my home state!!!)

I also decorated the inside:

The argyle paper is by Colorbok, and I used more of the dictionary paper die cut flowers, as well as the clock hands.  The stamp is from a stamp kit I purchased from HSN called, Simply Iconic. ( It is jampacked with super cute stamps, and I can't wait to play with more of them!!)

I like how the card turned out, and hope she likes it too!

Have a great week guys!!

  1. Well you know I loved my card. The paper and ribbon is super cute. I'm a shoe girl so this was just perfect for me. And I really like the way you layered the doiley, clock and flowers. How cool that you cut the flowers from a vintage dictionary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the beautiful card and the package of goodies that you sent with it. You are an amazing crafter and a wonderful friend.
