School Themed Birthday Cards 2013

Hey friends!!

My post today is to share the birthday cards that I make each year for a local elementary school.  They are birthday cards, for the entire faculty.  Previously, I have made them for two schools, but this year I only had to make them for one.  ("HAD TO"  that isn't right!!.  I volunteer to do this! haha.)   I finished them before school started, but was too sick to get this video and blog post up.  Here's a video, and there will be pictures below.

I had to make over 100 of these, so I made about 10 of each design, but no two cards were identical.  They had the same image, but different colors and background papers.  Oh, and most of the photos were taken with the cards tucked into the envelopes, so it looks like I did a horrible job centering the patterned paper! Haha!  Here are the photos:

These are my favorite!  I used a cut from the Recess Cricut cartridge, except on the cut, the chalkboard has an "ABC" and I hid that using my gypsy, and heat embossed the Happy Birthday.  I also used Enamel Accents for her tiny piece of chalk.  It added the perfect touch!  :)
The ruler and composition notebook in her hands, are actually Sticko stickers!
These I actually made the first year I did this project.  I found some of them in my craft room when I recently reorganized it, so I threw them into the batch for this year! I do like this card though.  I used an apple from the Making The Grade Cricut cartridge, and welded "Happy Birthday," and the star using my gypsy.  Then cut it out with different layers/colors.  (Looking back, it would have been way easier to not weld, and just cut the individual pieces, but ah well!)

For this one, I just used School themed background paper, and a sentiment stamp.  I wanted to make a few simple ones.  I know not all people like the cutesy images.
This one uses an ice cream cone from the Indie Art Cricut cartridge.  It's one of my favorite ice cream cone cuts!
This one, uses an image from the Birthday Bash cartridge.  I love this image!!
This one, uses the same image from the previous card, except I cut out the mouse and added a few balloons.  It's meant to look like they are floating out as the gift is opened.  I saw a card similar to this on a blog a long time ago, and can't for the life of me find it again!  I would love to give credit where it's due, but I can't find it!  (I'm still searching!)

This card is just three crayons.  I stamped in the center crayon with various birthday stamps.
The next card uses a worm from the Create A Critter cartridge, along with a book from one of the Paper Dolls cartridges.  I used a Peachy Keen Stamps Critter Faces stamp for his face, and added glossy accents to his glasses!  I also used a tiny stamp from a 7 gypsies set called, Numero for the book title. I love this lilttle book worm!!
This is just a simple cupcake.  I ran the cupcake wrapper through my crimper to make it look real, and ran the frosting through the Divine Swirls embossing folder. I also stamped the candle with a tone on tone chevron print.
This next one is my favorite pencil cut from the Cricut!  It is from My Community.  I also stamp a "no. 2" on the side to add some reality to it.

And that's it for the school-themed birthday cards for the 2013-2014 school year!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. All your cards are fabulous!! I am totally scraplifting a few of your ideas. I love love love the one with the mouse peeking out of the present and the way you changed it up and put balloons in it instead. And the little girl holding the chalk. OMG!! Too cute. What a great job you did on all of these wonderful cards. I'm sure everyone is going to love them!
