FUN Idea For Giving Ca$h As A Gift!!

Hi everyone!

I have been neglecting my blog lately.  I don't intend on that, but it happens.  Now that I post videos for my projects rather than just taking pictures, it is so much easier for me to just upload a video than write out a blog post.  (Especially since being on the computer makes me nauseous.)  I just wanted to say that I do have some new videos up, if you're interested you can check out my YT HERE

I do have some pictures to go along with a video today.  This is a gift that I gave my nephew a couple days ago for his 8th birthday.  He is going to Disneyland, so I wanted to give him some "fun money" to spend while he is there.   Well, I don't like just giving cash or a gift card.  I like to try and make it special or unique.  So this is what I did:
Here are the pictures of the finished gift:  (Keep in mind that I KNOW the bow does NOT match the wrapping!  Lol.)  I "wrapped" the box in Sport-themed Duct Tape!!  The bow, is the colors of his favorite team, that's why it doesn't coordinate too well hahaha!

This is the wrapped box with the "pull" tag hanging out
Here is a pic showing the "pull" tag attached to the first dollar bill:
 A Closer view:
Here is the GIANT bow (to hide the hole where the money comes out, and to hide the rest of the "pull" tag:
Another view: (I use these huge bows, so that it just looks like a gift tag with the persons name on it.  Then you tell them to read the tag, and the FUN begins!!!!)
This is just the box and the card together:

This is SUCH a fun gift to give!  It is so awesome to watch the person just pull and pull and pull the cash out of the box, all taped together, one dollar at a time!! Haha.

Hope you like my gift idea!!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Peper Christmas Lights That GLOW!!

Hey!!

Ok guys, here's the deal...  I've had this idea for about five years now.  I have always wanted to do it for my Christmas cards, yet I have always been so sick and didn't have the time to experiment and play around with it.  Until this year!!!  I finally got to play, and oh my gosh I am SO EXCITED!!!
In case you don't want to watch the video, here is the gist of it.  I have always wanted to glowing, like actual Christmas lights on my cards.  They have those necklaces that blink and glow and flash, and I've wanted to incorporate those onto my cards somehow.  The problem is, they are so bulky!  Then, you have to hide the battery pack somewhere in the card.  Then, if you're mailing it, you want the lights on so when the recipient gets it, the lights will be on (so they don't have to turn them on.)  and who knows if the battery pack will last that long.  ETC.   Well, I got to thinking  "What about glow in the dark paint!?"  I have three different bottles from three different stores, and I tried two of them out so far.  The one I use the most is by Americana, and it's just called Glow In The Dark Paint.  The other one is by Tulip, and it's called Glow.  They both work great!  They are clear, so you can put it on top of ANYTHING without distorting the color.   Then, when you're all done painting it on your projects, you just need to ensure that the project will be exposed to light, so that the Glow will work once the lights are turned off!

It is SO MUCH FUN!   I've painted over a ton of Christmas lights that I cut using my Cricut.  I've also painted over Christmas Light Stickers.  I've painted over a fire in a fireplace.  The flame of a candle.  The list goes on and on!  There are so many ideas, and once you try it out, you will think of a million more!  And it is so fun to turn out the lights and see it glow!  I think the kiddos in my family are going to LOVE it this year!!  I'm not telling them that their card will glow either, I'm just going to wait and let them notice it for themselves!!

Well, I just had to share my brilliant idea (lol!!) with you guys!  I hope you all try it out!  If you do, I'd LOVE to see pictures of what you create!  Keep in mind this is also super fun for Halloween!  Making jack-o-lanterns glow, the moon, owls eyes, or anyone's eyes to make them spooky, etc!  SOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!!

Take care guys!  Hope you're having a great weekend!

Poinsettia Cards (Christmas 2013)

Happy Sunday everyone!!

I hope you're all having a GREAT weekend!  I know I am, I have been crafting my booty off!!  :)  I have another video to share today.  These are Christmas Cards that I made, all of them using  the Tattered Poinsettia Die by Tin Holtz/Sizzix.   I also used the coordinating embossing folder.  These flowers turn out so incredibly gorgeous!  Soooo detailed!  I just love them.

Let me know what you think! I love hearing from you guys! :)

Secret Santa Gift Bag

Hi Everyone!

I hope you are all having a lovely Thanksgiving week!  Food, family, football... it's my favorite time of year!  lol!  Today I have a gift bag to share.  I participated in a Secret Santa Swap on youTue, hosted by Nicole Kerr.  (HERE is the link to her YT channel .  She is the owner/creater of My Style Stamps, and she is just a super talented and sweet lady!)  She wanted to do a swap for the holidays, so she decided to do a secret Santa!  I have always LOVED secret santa's!!  So I signed up right away!  The only requirements were that it be a 5" x 7" bag (or as close to those measurements as possible) and that it be YOUR crafting style, and then include at least 3 goodies for your partner.    Well, it's not really a "partner," I knew who I was sending my package to, but I did not know who I was getting it from.  That's the secret.  Here is the bag that I made:

The bag was to represent your crafting style.  I don't really think that I have a "style."  I mean, I like a little bit of everything!  My crafting style really depends on who I am making the project for!  So I just went with the clean and simple look.  I colored an image (which I am HORRIBLE at, but LOVE doing!) and popped her up on foam adhesive, made it look like she's sitting on the ribbon.  I added paper from The Paper Studio, a Christmas stack called, "Spunky-Funky Christmas."  I purchased it from Hobby Lobby at least two years ago.  It's a really cute paper stack though! :)
Then, the bag I ended up using was just a regular lunch sack.  I glued down the bottom part to make a pocket on the front of my bag.  I did this intentionally, because one of my three goodies was going to be a gift card.  So this is what it looks like with the gift card in the pocket:

I made the gift card holder at another time from the bag, and so they don't really coordinate that well!  LOL!  Oh well, it's the thought that counts, right?! Hahaha!  I also added some pretty red adhesive flat-backed pearls just to give it a little something extra.  Here is the back of the bag:

Nothing too fancy, just some pretty paper and my handmade by stamp.

I also made a small, simple 3" x 3" card to send along with my package.  I used my new die that I just purchased yesterday! YAY!!

It's the Tim Holtz Tattered Poinsettia Die.  I went to Michaels last night, and it was just hanging there on an end-cap!  I had never even seen it before, but it's not at all new.  I don't know where I've been! Lol!  I just cut it out with some vintage looking Christmas sheet music paper, and added some yellow-ish pearls to the center.  It is a super simple card, but I think it turned out quite pretty.  I just needed something to write a little note in, and thought it worked out nicely.

I do have a video of the project, (since I try to record a video rather than write out a long blog post like this one! lol But today I was feeling well enough to actually post!)  Here's the video if anyone would rather watch:
Thanks for stopping by today!  Let me know what you think!  And I hope everyone has a safe, happy Thanksgiving!!  :)

Perpetual Calendar Card Keeper

Hey crafty people!!

So.... I typically take photos of my projects to post here.  But recently, I have found that making videos is so much simpler for me.  (With my illness, being on the computer makes me more nauseated than I already am, and videos are just so much more simple to record and then post to YouTube.)  Lately, I have been trying to do both, take photos to post here, and record a video.  For this project, I was just so thrilled that I finally completed it, that I forgot to take photos!!!  Yikes!!  But I did record a video.  Lol.

I made a Perpetual Calendar and Card Keeper for a very good friend.  It is for her birthday, (which has passed, but I still wanted to give it to her regardless.)  I have wanted to make myself one of these for quite a while now, and since I've completed this one, I can NOT wait to get started on mine!  I really, really hope my friend likes it!  Here's the video:
Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

The Baby Guessing Game!

 Hey friends!

Today I have a quick card share.  My very, very good friend just found out she is pregnant!! YAY!!  She actually told me over a month ago, it just took me this long to make the card!

This is actually a revamp of a card I made over two years ago for my little brother and his wife, when they announced their pregnancy.  I really like how this version turned out!!

 Here are some pictures:

The background (purple) paper is from a baby stack by Momenta, I couldn't find a name on it.  It has the cutest papers though!  The little baby heads I cut from my Cricut, and stamped the faces on with Peachy Keen Face Stamps, from a few different sets. Then I added some pink chalk to their little baby cheeks!   The spinner is a Tim Holtz, put on with an eyelet, a washer, and a brad to put it all together.  The words, "The Baby Guessing Game" were all cut with my Cricut, and I put them on a Banner shape that I hand cut.  The banner paper is also from that same Momenta stack.
Here is the inside:
The sentiment is from two different stamp sets, the 'Congrats on your' is by Fiskars, and the 'Pregnancy' is by The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)  The pregnant woman silhouette is also a stamp.  I used the same background paper as from the front of the card, and the green paper that says "baby" all over it in white, is from a baby stack by the Paper Studio.  The stack is called "Jung-a-low Bung-a-low Baby"  What a title, right?!  Lol.

I hope you all like my card, and I really really hope my sweet friend likes it!  It is super fun and kind of addicting to spin it.  Just as I was getting ready to put it in the envelope to mail it off, I gave it a few spins, and it landed on the boy FOUR TIMES IN A ROW!  Odd!  Then I gave it one more spin, and it was twin girls.  Lol.  I can't wait to see what the baby's gender actually is!  I'm  so excited for them!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!  Hope you're having a great week!
