Easter Cards ... Posted Just A Week Late!

Hi peeps!

I hope you all had a lovely Easter last weekend!   I was bummed because I didn't get cards made for all the kiddos in my family this year.   I've been so sick, that I'm surprised I accomplished what I did!!  (I DID get Easter baskets for allall of the  though, and let's face it... that's what they care about! haha)

I did make one kid card for my youngest nephew, Foster.  It is (was) his first Easter!!! My mom said that if nothing else, he HAD to get a card.  So this is the super simple one I made for him:

The cute little chickie in his egg, is from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge.  Instead of cutting the face it was designed with, I stamped a Peachy Keen Critter Faces stamp on him. And BOY did he turn out cute! I just love the difference that those PK stamps make!!

My next card is a more elegant and religious Easter one.  (ONE?! I actually made three of these for my mom to send to a few friends!)  It is really simple, yet looks so detailed and pretty. (I think, anyway!)  First I designed a basic frame on my Gypsy by welding a rectangle and an oval together. (I did this twice, making one just slightly larger so that it would be a layered frame.)  If there is already a cut on a cartridge like this, I sure as heck couldn't find it!!  At least not on any of the 100+ cartridges that I own!

I also ran the top layer through my Cuttlebug Divine Swirls folder.  (Heart that embossing folder!!)
Next, I took  my plain white A2 sized card base and laid this frame centered where I wanted it, and traced the inside oval real lightly with a pencil. I had to do that to ensure I was getting proper placement for  my image.  I found this beautiful bling cross at Michaels for $0.49!  So I added the cross in the center of my drawn oval, and erased the pencil marks:

Next, I added the frame to my card base, popping it up on mounting tape to give the card dimension.  I also added a cluster of purple Prima flowers in different sizes and shades to finish off the card.

I think this is one of my favorite cards that I've made, and they were so simple!!  I think they turned out so pretty, and I hope the recipients think so too!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cards today!
