Purses Galore!

This will be my last post for the night.... I promise!! :)

I purchased a sentiments magazine a couple months ago, and came across  one that just cracked me up.  I knew I HAD to make a card using it.  I finally was able to make one for someone who would enjoy the sentiment and the card.   Here is what I came up with:
Here is the sentiment:
When I make a card, I try to make an extra one that is just a little different.  That way, I will have some extra cards on hand if I ever need one in a pinch.  So I made a few varieties of this card:

I think this is one of my favorites that I've made. :)   I love how they all turned out.
Thanks for looking!

Altered-ish Frame, and Birthday Gifts

Hi again!

A long time ago I altered some picture frames into bulletin boards for my craft space.  I wanted to do another one for my Niece for her birthday (tomorrow.)  She's a "tween" so she loves girly things and bling.  I was shopping at Bed Bath & Beyond and came across this frame:

Yes, it is a wedding frame.  I just loved all the bling!!  (Which did NOT photograph very well...it looks dark and like some of the 'bling' are missing.....odd!)   But the frame really is awesome, it really sparkles!! :)

The first step is to remove the glass.  Then I cut down a piece of cork board to fit the 8x10 frame.   I found a very cute ribbon to glue along the cork board.
I am in love with that ribbon!!!

Then, I found these tacks:

And wanted to alter them too, and make them pretty.  So I added these little fabric roses to the top of each one:
Here is my final project:

I just talked to her on the phone (I never get to see the kids, I'm always too sick. It's a bummer.) And she LOVED it.  She already has it set up on her desk!  I'm glad, because I thought it was pretty awesome too! :)

I also made her a Girl Scouts word book like the two I made a while ago.  Very similar, just a different paper theme.   She has been in girl scouts for a few years now, so I wanted to make her one too!
I didn't take pictures of every page, because it's pretty close to the ones I made before.  But here's another pic:

Thanks for checking out my projects!!

Sympathy Cards

Yes, another post!

I really struggle with sympathy cards.  I have a hard time writing in them, and finding sentiments that I want them to say.  I know there are no words for when you lose a loved one.... but I still feel the need to send something just letting that person know they are in my thoughts.

I had to make a couple sympathy cards recently. (never fun.)  So I came up with these from a sketch.

The Baby Guessing Game

I am so very excited!!!  My little brother and his beautiful wife are having a baby!!!  I've known for a little while, but I've been waiting to post this until they made the official announcement.  :)   And ... of course...I had to make a card for the occasion.  I didn't want just a 'congrats' card, I wanted something fun, and to reflect their fun personalities.  So I came up with a baby guessing game.  Since it is too early to find out the sex of the baby, I thought this would be a silly game, they could spin it each day and see what turns up the most!! :)
I used one of the Tim Holtz Game Spinners, to make it actually spin!!  The thing that took the longest when making this card was drawing all the baby faces on.  Since I can't see exactly what I am drawing, it ended up throwing away about 27 babies with faces that didn't run out so great.  Haha.

Here is a close up of the spinner and game:

I ended up playing with it for about a day before I sent it.  Lol!  I kept getting girls and twin girls... I think I only got boys two times out of about 1,000 spins!  So we'll have to see how accurate it is. Haha!

Here's a quick video of the spinning action (before the game was attached to the card):

And another pic:

Leave me a comment, let me know what you think!! :)

Humming Bird Gift Set

Hi fellow crafters!!

I can not believe it has been almost two months since my last post!  I haven't felt well enough to get on my computer to post any of the crafts that I've managed to make.  I have made a few project since I last posted, though!  Hopefully I will e able to post them all here within the next few days. I'll start with these :)

My mom asked me to make a few things for a very good friend of hers, so she gave me a theme and some general ideas, and I went to work!!!

Here is one of those notepads with a magnetic closure that are perfect for putting in your purse!!  It was just a basic, plain color... and my mom didn't want me to go too crazy on it. :)   I thought about covering it with decorative paper, but then realized that once it goes in and out of your purse...the paper would get mangled.  So I just stamped and heat embossed it!  Of course, I forgot to take a "before" picture!! ARG!! But here is the inside of the notepad, I know you have all seen these!
Here it is stamped and heat embossed:
I don't know which picture is best, because they all look the same to me...but hopefully one shows the embossing detail!

Here is a set of six cards that I made also, that have the same humming bird stamp/embossed image:
The inside of all the cards say "A note from _____" (the lady's name.)  I had fun making them, and I think they turned out pretty. :)

I also made a box for the cards/envelopes to go in:
This picture is just to show the 'belly band' sliding off:

Thanks for stopping by!
